WCL pays Rs 249.86 crore interim dividend to Coal India

Prior to the year 2024-25, WCL had paid dividend to Coal India Limited in the financial year 2015-16.

Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) has paid interim dividend of Rs 249.86 crore to Coal India Limited. During the meeting held in Kolkata on 13th November 2024, Chairman-cum-Managing Director of WCL Shri Jai Prakash Dwivedi presented the cheque of this interim dividend for the financial year 2024-25 to Chairman of Coal India Limited Shri P.M. Prasad. Prior to the year 2024-25, WCL had paid dividend to Coal India Limited in the financial year 2015-16.

On this occasion, Chairman-cum-Managing Director of WCL Shri Jai Prakash Dwivedi said that WCL had to face many challenges in the last few years. He informed that after overcoming these difficulties, WCL is in a strong financial position today. At present, the net worth of WCL is Rs 7443 crore and in the financial year 2023-24, WCL has earned a profit of Rs 4,182 crore. He further informed that in the first 6 months of the financial year 2024-25, WCL has earned a profit of Rs 1,458.25 crore. He said that this interim dividend reflects WCL's firm commitment to contribute to the wider interest of Coal India Limited and the energy security of India

On this occasion, the Directors of Coal India Limited and the CVO were specially present. WCL Director (Technical) Shri Anil Kumar Singh, Director (Finance and Personnel) Shri Bikram Ghosh, Chief Vigilance Officer Shri Ajay Madhukar Mhetre, General Manager (Finance) Shri Dinesh Kumar Chaudhary and other senior officers were present in the meeting.
